New trees in the Royal Gardens

Almost 40 trees will be planted in the Royal Łazienki Gardens. They will consist of horse chestnuts, maples, oaks and ashes. The trees will replace 15 snags, removed following the decision of the Warsaw’s Conservator of Monuments.

The new trees – each with a circumference of several dozen centimetres – are being planted in the Royal and the Romantic Garden – in the locations of the removed specimen. Plantings constitute an element of revitalization works, carried out since September of 2017 along alleys and in other locations.

According to the decision of the Warsaw’s Conservator of Monuments, dying trees or those posing a threat to visitors and monuments are to be removed. They will be replaced by new, in most part domestic species – oaks, ashes, maples and horse chestnuts.

The revitalization works, including the plantings and maintenance of trees, are co-financed by the National Fund for Environment Protection and Water Management, and will last until the end of 2018.
