Fishermen with Boat on the Beach

This painting forms part of the collection of Stanisław August. Jacob Philipp Hackert was a highly regarded German landscape painter who settled in Italy, gaining popularity among his contemporaries through compositions depicting idyllic Italian landscapes. Here, the artist depicts the Bay of Salerno as seen from the vicinity of Vietri sul Mare, although he incorporated fictional elements into the actual coastline, including buildings featuring a domed church, a fortress, and a lighthouse.
