On 7 February 2017, Prime Minister Beata Szydło hosted a dinner in the Palace on the Isle on the occasion of the German Chancellor’s visit to Warsaw.

The dinner, which crowned a one-day visit of Chancellor Merkel to Warsaw, began at 7:20 p.m. in the Painting Gallery. It was an opportunity to summarise the Tuesday talks of the head of the German government with Polish politicians. Before, Chancellor Merkel met with the Prime Minister, the President, the Chairman of the Law and Justice party and leaders of the Civic Platform and Polish Peasants’ Party to discuss, among others, issues relating to European, defence and economic policy.
