The historic gardens of the Royal Łazienki Museum are a sanctuary for many wild species. Visitors can encounter them during walks and sporting activities. You are kindly requested to abide by certain rules when dealing with animals.

Although wild, the animals living in the Royal Łazienki Gardens are used to the sight of humans, so they often like to approach us. However, you should always be careful when dealing with free-living species and respect that the fauna is governed by its own laws and exists alongside us with its own rhythm.

You are reminded that in accordance with Rules and Regulations of the Łazienki Gardens, visitors must not among other things:
► chase and frighten animals, throw objects at them;
► inflict pain and suffering on or irritate animals;
approach and touch animals, including especially squirrels, peacocks, foxes and small rodents.

If you are scratched or bitten by an animal, please contact the Museum Guard immediately at (+48) 22 50 60 131 and seek medical attention as well.

When to help animals?

There are times when certain behaviours of wild species can cause our concern. This is usually because we are not familiar with nature and the behaviour of representatives of fauna. Sometimes, however, animals need our help. How to proceed then? From our guide, in which we provide straightforward explanations, you will learn when to intervene and when the behaviour of representatives of the Łazienki fauna should not surprise us. You will find information on unusual animal behaviour, as well as examples of how to help in specific situations.

Remember! Your safety is paramount. Do not take action if it endangers human life or health. However, if intervention is necessary or animal behaviour raises your concern, please contact the Museum Guard at (+48) 22 50 60 131.

According to a communiqué from the Chief Veterinary Officer, no outbreaks of rabies were identified in Mazovia in 2025.
