  • Exhibition: From Tournament to Carousel. Knights’ Games in Modern Europe

    Masterpieces of European armour smithing, taking you into the world of honourable knightly skirmishes, are on display from 15 November 2022 to 2 April 2023 at an exhibition in the Royal Łazienki Museum. The valuable items come, among others, from the State Art Collections in Dresden, which has one of the finest collections of tournament and ceremonial weaponry.

  • A painting from the royal collection returned to Łazienki

    After 203 years, the portrait of Andrzej Poniatowski, brother of King Stanisław August, painted in 1778 by Marcello Bacciarelli, returned to the Palace on the Isle. The purchase of the painting was funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

  • Zbigniew Wawer, Director of the Royal Łazienki Museum, passed away

    On 12 December 2022, after a long and severe illness, Professor [Prof. nadzw. dr hab.] Zbigniew Wawer, Director of the Royal Łazienki Museum, passed away. "I can’t find the words that could express the immensity of the loss. A loss for culture, for all of us. An outstanding museologist and a wonderful, warm person. I express my condolences to the family and loved ones. Goodbye, Zbyszek!" – these are the words with which the Deputy Prime Minister, Professor Piotr Gliński, bid the Director farewell.

  • Exhibition: Masterpieces for the king? Rubens, van Dyck, Teniers the Younger from the collection of Dulwich Picture Gallery

    Outstanding works by Flemish, Dutch and Italian painters from the collection of the Dulwich Picture Gallery in London may be viewed at the Royal Łazienki Museum from 9 September to 1 December 2022. The paintings will be presented in Poland for the first time.

  • Exhibition: The Essence of Impressionism. Rodin’s sculptures at the Royal Łazienki Museum

    Sculptures made by Auguste Rodin, an eminent French artist and forerunner of modern sculpture, will be presented at the Palace on the Isle from 15 July to 15 November 2022. The works come from the Dresden State Art Collections (Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden).

  • Exhibition: The King’s Rembrandt. The Polish Rider from The Frick Collection in New York

    One of Rembrandt’s most recognizable works and only one of two known equestrian portraits by the Dutch master. ‘The Polish Rider’, once in the collection of King Stanisław August and now in The Frick Collection in New York, will be on display in the Picture Gallery in the Palace on the Isle from 6 May to 7 August 2022.

  • Exhibition: Hungarian Narratives in Győző Somogyi’s Painting

    You are invited to the exhibition of the works by Győző Somogyi, a contemporary Hungarian painter. Nearly 50 works from the oeuvre of the artist are presented, featuring historical and sacred themes. The exhibition will be on view from 1 April to 30 June 2022 in the Cantonists’ Barracks in the Royal Łazienki Museum.

  • New splendour of the Kubicki Stables

    The Kubicki Stables, dating back to the 19th century, have regained their place on the cultural map of Warsaw. A project co-financed by EU funds allowed to create a unique educational and exhibition space with a rich programme offer for visitors in the building referred to as the Horseshoe. Visitors are invited to the newly renovated building from 30 July 2021.

  • Exhibition: "Splendour of Power. The House of Wettin on the Throne of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth"

    Precious works collected by Augustus II and Augustus III formed one of the most important and magnificent art collections in 18th-century Europe. Several hundred of them will be on display from 5 November 2021 to 27 February 2022 at the exhibition "Splendour of Power. The House of Wettin on the Throne of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth" in the Royal Łazienki.

  • Exhibition: "Chocim 1621"

    The Battle of Chocim was one of the greatest military successes of Poland of the times of szlachta, which saved the state from the Ottoman aggression. The exhibition, which is dedicated to the battles taking place 400 years ago, presents historic arms illustrating the original Polish-Lithuanian and Turkish military. The exhibition can be visited from 9 October 2021 to 20 February 2022 in the Kubicki Stables.

    Sculptures by Ursula von Rydingsvard, one of American most recognisable artists, are on display at the Royal Łazienki Museum from 5 October 2021 to 13 February 2022. These are two works that are representative of her oeuvre – the polyurethane resin Elegantka II and For Natasha, a work made of cedar wood.

  • Exhibition of the painting "Vytautas's Oath" by Jan Styka

    The monumental work "Vytautas vows revenge against the Teutonic Knights against the backdrop of a burning Kaunas" by Jan Styka, one of the most famous Polish battle painters, will be on display from 9 September to 14 November 2021 at the Royal Łazienki Museum. The exhibition was organised to mark the 30th anniversary of resumption of diplomatic relations between Poland and Lithuania.

    Find out what important historical figures were immortalized by Jan Styka in the painting "Vytautas vows revenge against the Teutonic Knights against the backdrop of a burning Kaunas". In a symbolic way, the artist referred to the heroic history of Lithuania, a country with a centuries-old tradition, of which the achievements of Vytautas, Grand Duke, are an important part.

  • The exhibition "Beautiful objects. 2020 acquisitions"

    Precious miniatures from the collections of King Stanisław August, a graphic portrait of the monarch and objects of 18th-century decorative art will be shown from 4 May to 30 September 2021 at a temporary exhibition in the White Pavilion. These are the works which were brought to the Royal Łazienki as acquisitions at Polish and foreign auctions.

Kevin Kenner, who is considered as one of the most outstanding performers of the works of Fryderyk Chopin, will perform as first.
