  • Feel like in the Netherlands. Visit the new garden near the Old Orangery

    Tulips, narcissi, roses, hydrangeas, and perennial plants - in the coming months, hundreds of these plants will bloom in the Dutch Flower Garden near the Old Orangery. The first inflorescences, which were designed by the Dutchman Niek Roozen, will be available to admire from the end of April - since 29 April.

  • Treasures of the Warsaw Mint. Exhibition in the Old Orangery

    Valuable objects from Polish museums: medals, seals, coins, documents and prints will be displayed from 13 May as part of the "Treasures of the Warsaw Mint 1766-1868" exhibition in the Old Orangery. Many of the displayed objects are unique items, which have not been previously made available to the public.

  • 17 May – Norwegians celebrated in the Royal Łazienki

    The Norwegian Embassy and its guests marked the Norwegian Constitution Day - the most colourful and joyful event in the country of the fjords - with a reception in the Old Orangery. On 17 May, Norway celebrates the anniversary of the adoption by the state of the constitution in 1814.

    The baroque Dutch painter, Abraham Mignon, had strong ambitions to depict various flower compositions with maximal resemblance to reality. Today, he is considered one of the most prominent still life painters in the second half of the 17th century, and his paintings are displayed in major museums in the world.

    Thousands of tulips in colours ranging from white to near-black will appear in spring in the Gardens of the Royal Łazienki. In this way the Museum will remind its visitors of the tulipomania - the European fascination with those flowers, which originated in the Netherlands.

    Several dozens people participated in public consultations on the "21st Century Garden" project, which took place on 10 May in the Officer Cadets School in the Royal Łazienki.     The exhibition of the famous painting "Flowers in a Glass Vase" from the Mauritshuis Museum in the Hague, the colourful Dutch Flower Garden near the Old Orangery, the European Picnic and the "Connection" exhibition in the Open-Air Gallery - all these events are part of the Dutch Days in the Royal Łazienki, which are organised with the cooperation of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

  • The Old Orangery as good as new. Several-year long renovation completed

    The Old Orangery has regained its former excellence. As a result of the works conducted by conservators, the building looks and functions as it used to at the time of Stanisław August. The funds for the renovation which took place between 2012 and 2016 were provided from the Norway Grants and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

    In the course of renovation and conservation works conducted in the Old Orangery, a unique carpenter’s ruler - likely coming from around 1780 - was found. Although it is more than 230 years old, the tool has been preserved in a perfect state.

  • Germany, France, Denmark, Russia, China - this is how they enjoyed the Evening of Light (video)

    Strolls with lanterns, spectacular illuminations, concerts, and a presentation of historical costumes - these were the main attractions of the Winter Evening of Light in residencies which, together with the Royal Łazienki, participate in the "Gardens of Light" project. Those are: the Muskau Park of Prince Pückler in Bad Muskau, the Tsarskoye Selo State Museum in Saint Petersburg, the Prince Kung’s Mansion in Beijing, Château de Lunéville in France, and the Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød, Denmark.

  • Grzyby - tajemniczy architekci z naszych ogrodów! Kiedy spacerujesz po Łazienkach Królewskich w grudniowe przedpołudnie, może Ci się wydawać, że świat przyrody zwalnia. Ale pod liśćmi i w korze drzew trwa prawdziwe życie - i to życie tworzą grzyby! W ramach programu towarzyszącego wystawie "Łazienki w zachwycie" zorganizowaliśmy w listopadzie spotkania BioBlitz, podczas których grupa pasjonatów pod okiem dr. Michała Gorczaka przez 6 godzin przemierzała ogrody w poszukiwaniu grzybów. Efekt? Podczas naszych badań znaleźliśmy 41 różnych rodzajów grzybów, z czego 37 udało się dokładnie rozpoznać i przyporządkować do gatunku. Najwięcej było saproksylobiontów - grzybów rozkładających martwe drewno. Wśród nich znalazły się zarówno twarde, wieloletnie huby, jak i jednoroczne, miękkie owocniki, a także uszak bzowy i żylak trzęsakowaty.

  • Sztuka Domicelli Bożekowskiej to podróż przez fascynacje naturą, imponujący warsztat i niespotykana wrażliwość na ruch, gest i charakter zwierząt. Na nowej wystawie w Koszarach Kantonistów pt. "Miasto zwierząt" przyjrzycie się z bliska wizerunkom wielu gatunków: od monumentalnych bawołów i słoni, przez tygrysy, lisy i jelenie, aż po – wilki, którym Bożekowska poświęcała szczególną uwagę. Znajdziecie tu także portrety zwierząt z jej najbliższego otoczenia: Fugi – pół wilczycy, pół psa, mangusty Kitu czy fretki Pandulka. To ekspozycja, która zachwyca dociekliwością godną przyrodnika i umiejętnością uchwycenia życia w najdrobniejszym detalu.
