  • Baroque in the Royal Theatre. A new series of musical performances in Łazienki

    You are invited to concerts, opera and ballet performances as part of the “Baroque in the Royal Theatre” series by Warsaw Chamber Opera, which will be presented until the end of May 2016 in the Royal Łazienki. - We want Warsaw to become a centre of baroque art. Łazienki is a beautiful place, an ideal one for the realization of the idea - Lilianna Stawarz, Artistic Director of Opera/Baroque of the Warsaw Chamber Opera and originator of the project, says.

  • Art pieces from the Royal Łazienki on exhibition in the Russian Hermitage Museum

    Michail Piotrowski, the director of the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg and Tadeusz Zielniewicz, the director of the Royal Łazienki Museum in Warsaw, have inaugurated an exhibition entitled “Catherine II and Stanisław August. Two Enlightened Monarchs in Eastern Europe” in the Russian Hermitage Museum. Among other things the exhibition is composed of works of art from the Royal Collection of Paintings.

  • "Free November" - more than 250 thousand visitors in the royal residences

    Interest in this year's campaign "Free November" surpassed all expectations. More than 250,000 people visited last month Wawel Royal Castle, the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Palace Museum, King John III in Wilanow and the Royal Baths Museum. Great interest aroused also museum lessons organized by four royal residences - more than 13,000 students benefited from free activities.

    The Royal Łazienki has become a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), which has operated as a non-governmental organization for several dozen years gathering 35 thousand people around the world. The Polish National Committee of ICOM is seated in King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów.

    Royal Łazienki with its extensive gardens appeared in a short film promoting Warsaw as a city seeking the “Green Capital of Europe” title in 2018. The spot featured also the Śródmieście district, the Skaryszewski Park, Czajka sewage treatment plant and the wild banks of the Vistula river. You are invited to watch it.

  • The halfway point of "Admission Free November" 2015 - more than 100 000 people have already visited the royal residences

    Over 100 thousand visitors have visited the Wawel Royal Castle, the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów and the Royal ‎Łazienki Museum in the first two weeks of "Free November". The action of admission-free touring continues until the end of the month - so it is a good idea to take the opportunity to visit the royal residences.

  • "Prince Pückler - playboy, pasha and visionary". A debate in the Royal Theatre.

    A film about Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau, creator of the famous Park Muskau included on the World Heritage List, was shown in the Royal Łazienki, followed by a debate devoted to the works of the German visionary. According to Rolf Nikel, ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany which organised the meeting in the Royal Theatre in the Old Orangery, the Park Muskau became our common heritage and a natural bridge between Poland and Germany.

  • 2nd Ignacy Jan Paderewski International Festival - "His heart will beat in the Łazienki"

    Jazz, chamber and symphonic music concerts as well as screenings of films and exhibitions - these are some of the attractions of the 2nd Ignacy Jan Paderewski International Festival devoted to the achievements of the outstanding Polish pianist, composer, activist and statesman. The Festival will take place on the occasion of the 155th anniversary of the master’s birthday, and the performing artists will come, among other things, from Australia, Switzerland, United States, Mallorca and Poland.

    King Philippe of Belgium and Queen Mathilde, who paid an official visit to Poland, were hosted in the Royal Łazienki. In the Old Orangery, the royal couple gave a reception for the Polish presidential couple - Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda. Earlier, a concert was performed in the Royal Theatre.

  • Debate on EU in the Royal Theatre. "Europe must wake up"

    - My goal was to make a film that would get through to people and stun them. Europe must wake up and such a signal must come from the society - Annalisa Piras, the producer of the "The Great European Disaster Movie" said. The Polish premiere of the documentary as well as the accompanying debate on the future of EU took place in the Royal Theatre in the Old Orangery as part of the “European Wednesdays" organised by the Royal Łazienki and Professor Bronisław Geremek Foundation Centre.

  • The Dutch Garden is being created in the Royal Łazienki

    Hundreds of tulips, narcissus, daffodils, then roses, hydrangeas and perennial plants will bloom in spring in the Orangery Garden of the Royal Łazienki. The plants will form the so-called Dutch Garden which has been designed by Dutchman Niek Roozen. - We want to enrich the surroundings of the Old Orangery by adding flowers, perennial plants and shrubs. We believe that, in spring, this place will reveal all its beauty which will last until late autumn - Barbara Werner, Chief Gardener in the Royal Łazienki, says.

  • New splendour of the Myślewicki Palace - from 7 October

    The results of  a few months’ work by specialists, who made it possible to uncover historical polychromes, can be admired in the Myślewicki Palace already from 7 October. - Following the conservation work the Palace gained new splendour to reflect its 18th century character - said Piotr Zambrzycki, Chief Conservator of Royal Łazienki.

  • Handel resounded in Łazienki. The 1st Festival of Baroque Operas ended

    Brilliant baroque operas, including "Agrippina" and "Orlando" were presented to the guests of the 1st Festival of Baroque Operas "Dramma per Musica", which took place in the Royal Theatre in the Royal Łazienki until 20 September. There were also atmospheric concerts and recitals. Nearly 100 artists, including nearly 40 vocalists, performed for audiences of the Festival.

  • In the Palace on the Isle about Europe and its relations with Russia and Ukraine

    Political scientists, theoreticians and practitioners of international relations and specialists in Russia and Ukraine took part in a two-day conference "Europe-Russia-Ukraine" in the Royal Łazienki. The meeting, which can also be watched in the Virtual Museum, was organised by Professor Bronisław Geremek Foundation Centre.
