Exhibition: Mattia Preti. Discovering Malta’s Baroque secrets
The work of Mattia Preti, an eminent Italian painter and frescoist of the Baroque period, continuator of Caravaggio style, will be presented from 20 October 2023 to 3 March 2024 at a temporary exhibition in the Officer Cadets School. The exhibition was organised jointly with the Embassy of Malta and the Maltese National Heritage Institute – Heritage Malta.
Exhibition: The Promise of Happiness. Maria Papa Rostkowska
‘I create happy art’, said Maria Papa Rostkowska, one of the most interesting sculptors of the 20th century, whose marble sculptures will be presented at a temporary exhibition at the Old Orangery from 9 September to 3 December 2023.
Exhibition: ‘Caryatide Carrying Her Stone’ by Auguste Rodin
Sculpture "Caryatide Carrying Her Stone" made by Auguste Rodin, an eminent French artist and forerunner of modern sculpture, will be presented on the escarpment by the Water Tower from 17 June to 19 November 2023.
Exhibition: Arnaldo Pomodoro "Sfera con sfera"
"Sfera con sfera" – the monumental sculpture of the fiberglass by Arnaldo Pomodoro, one of the most important contemporary artists, is on display at the Royal Łazienki Museum. It can be seen in the Modernist Garden at the New Orangery.
64th season of Chopin Concerts in the Royal Łazienki
Feel invited to the 64th season of Chopin Concerts in the Royal Łazienki, which will start on 14 May 2023. Recitals at the foot of the Monument to Chopin will be held every Sunday at 12.00 and 16.00. Hear pianists of worldwide renown, including outstanding musicians of the younger generation.
Exhibition: Colour of Life. Frida Kahlo
The work of Frida Kahlo, one of the most eminent and interesting artists of the 20th century, will be at display during an exhibition at the Royal Łazienki Museum from 7 July to 3 September 2023. We can discover the unique world of the Mexican painter through colours, paintings and photographs, as well as an outdoor installation referring to the famous La Casa Azul.

Free tours, educational guided tours, observations of the Sun through telescope and art workshops are the highlights of this year’s #PalaceDay at the Royal Łazienki. All visitors are welcome: children, youth and adults.
A unique photograph of Karol Beyer in museum collections
The first known photograph of the Royal Łazienki, one of the two preserved 19th-century stereo photographs by Karol Beyer, outstanding Polish photographer, was added to the museum collections.
"Painting" - family painting area in the Old Guardhouse
We would like to welcome children and their caretakers to the family painting area in the Old Guardhouse. The place has been created for common experience of art – learning, stimulation of imagination, sensory perception of the painterly nature of the world, and simply for having fun.

Exhibition: Turning towards the light. Max Liebermann at the Royal Łazienki Museum
The works of Max Liebermann, one of the most influential artists of German Impressionism, are on display at the Royal Łazienki Museum from 15 December 2022 to 2 April 2023. The exhibition consists of two paintings created in the final phase of the artist’s activity – "Park Landscape" and "Self-Portrait".
Exhibition: From Tournament to Carousel. Knights’ Games in Modern Europe
Masterpieces of European armour smithing, taking you into the world of honourable knightly skirmishes, are on display from 15 November 2022 to 2 April 2023 at an exhibition in the Royal Łazienki Museum. The valuable items come, among others, from the State Art Collections in Dresden, which has one of the finest collections of tournament and ceremonial weaponry.
Zbigniew Wawer, Director of the Royal Łazienki Museum, passed away
On 12 December 2022, after a long and severe illness, Professor [Prof. nadzw. dr hab.] Zbigniew Wawer, Director of the Royal Łazienki Museum, passed away. "I can’t find the words that could express the immensity of the loss. A loss for culture, for all of us. An outstanding museologist and a wonderful, warm person. I express my condolences to the family and loved ones. Goodbye, Zbyszek!" – these are the words with which the Deputy Prime Minister, Professor Piotr Gliński, bid the Director farewell.
Exhibition: Masterpieces for the king? Rubens, van Dyck, Teniers the Younger from the collection of Dulwich Picture Gallery
Outstanding works by Flemish, Dutch and Italian painters from the collection of the Dulwich Picture Gallery in London may be viewed at the Royal Łazienki Museum from 9 September to 1 December 2022. The paintings will be presented in Poland for the first time.
Exhibition: The Essence of Impressionism. Rodin’s sculptures at the Royal Łazienki Museum
Sculptures made by Auguste Rodin, an eminent French artist and forerunner of modern sculpture, will be presented at the Palace on the Isle from 15 July to 15 November 2022. The works come from the Dresden State Art Collections (Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden).
Exhibition: I didn’t carry arms. I had a backpack and an easel
Paintings by eminent Bulgarian painters, who depicted the atmosphere in the Balkans during the war at the beginning of 20th century, are on display at the Royal Łazienki Museum from 23 September to 7 November 2022.
Exhibition: The King’s Rembrandt. The Polish Rider from The Frick Collection in New York
One of Rembrandt’s most recognizable works and only one of two known equestrian portraits by the Dutch master. ‘The Polish Rider’, once in the collection of King Stanisław August and now in The Frick Collection in New York, will be on display in the Picture Gallery in the Palace on the Isle from 6 May to 7 August 2022.
Exhibition: Hungarian Narratives in Győző Somogyi’s Painting
You are invited to the exhibition of the works by Győző Somogyi, a contemporary Hungarian painter. Nearly 50 works from the oeuvre of the artist are presented, featuring historical and sacred themes. The exhibition will be on view from 1 April to 30 June 2022 in the Cantonists’ Barracks in the Royal Łazienki Museum.
