  • The exhibition "Beautiful objects. 2020 acquisitions"

    Precious miniatures from the collections of King Stanisław August, a graphic portrait of the monarch and objects of 18th-century decorative art will be shown from 4 May to 30 September 2021 at a temporary exhibition in the White Pavilion. These are the works which were brought to the Royal Łazienki as acquisitions at Polish and foreign auctions.

  • The throne of the kings of Poland in the Palace on the Isle

    Richly adorned, gold-plated audience throne from the 1st half of the 18th c., which had been used by August II and August III, will be at display in the Palace on the Isle from 2 February to 15 August 2021. The Baroque piece of furniture, adorned with coats of arms of Poland and Saxony, is one of the few preserved throne armchairs from the era of the Polish-Saxon union.

  • Exhibition: Firearms

    Old firearms, including hunting and sporting exhibits, designed for target shooting are on display at a temporary exhibition in the Museum of Hunting and Horsemanship. All the exhibits were acquired thanks to a subsidy from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

  • Opening of the exhibition "Polish-Estonian relations in 1918–1939"

    On 5 May 2021, at the Open-Air Gallery at Al. Ujazdowskie, the exhibition under the title "Polish-Estonian relations in 1918–1939 in the light of Estonian archival material" was officially opened with the participation of the president of Estonia, Kersti Kaljulaid, while on an official visit to Poland; the exhibition reminded the common inter-war history of both states.

  • Recovered Heritage. On the 100th Anniversary of the Peace of Riga

    A hundred years ago, the operation of restitution to Poland of many priceless works of art and national mementoes looted by Russia during the partitions began. Among them were also items from the collections of king Stanisław August, which formed part of the furnishings of the Royal Łazienki. Polish cultural property was returned as a result of the Peace of Riga.

  • The oldest trees of the Royal Łazienki

    European ash, which grows in the Romantic Garden near the Belvedere Pond, is likely the oldest tree in the Royal Łazienki. Its age is estimated at 200 years. The European larch and pedunculate oak trees are equally ancient.

  • Exhibition: At source. Inspirations of the Korean Tradition and Culture

    The works drawing on the aesthetics of Korean traditional art, created by contemporary artists working in Korea and abroad, can be viewed at the exhibition held in the Officer Cadets School. The exhibition is displayed as part of the Month of Korean Culture organized by the Centre of Korean Culture in Warsaw.

    In commemoration of the centennial of the battle of Warsaw, the Royal Łazienki Museum and the Head Office of State Archives have created a joint exhibition entitled "The Battle of Warsaw as a Guarantor of Peace in Europe". The project is dedicated to one of the most crucial battles in world history, which proved instrumental in the shaping of the political map of Europe at the time.

  • The collections of the Museum have gained firearms from the 18th and 19th century

    40 pieces of old firearms were added to the collections of the Museum of Hunting and Horsemanship – Branch of the Royal Łazienki Museum. Most of them are hunting antiques, and several of them are sports firearms designed for a shooting target.

  • New brilliance of the Royal Łazienki. The project "Sources of Transformations" has been completed

    The White Pavilion and the Water Tower have been restored to their former splendour. Featuring new displays and an educational and cultural programme, they will open to visitors in spring. The historic garden surrounding both monuments and the relics of the Neogothic Orangery have also been renovated. The project which enabled to carry out conservation and renovation works was summarized at a conference in the Old Orangery held on 10 December 2019.

    The Chinese Avenue and the Belvedere Route at the Royal Łazienki will be lit with new period garden lamps. They will facilitate access to the buildings of the Museum after dark.

    Devoted to the highest and earliest Polish military decoration, the "Virtuti Militari" exhibition will be held in the Royal Łazienki Museum from 17 September until 11 December 2019. The history of the order founded by King Stanisław August is closely connected with the dramatic history of Poland.

  • Grzyby - tajemniczy architekci z naszych ogrodów! Kiedy spacerujesz po Łazienkach Królewskich w grudniowe przedpołudnie, może Ci się wydawać, że świat przyrody zwalnia. Ale pod liśćmi i w korze drzew trwa prawdziwe życie - i to życie tworzą grzyby! W ramach programu towarzyszącego wystawie "Łazienki w zachwycie" zorganizowaliśmy w listopadzie spotkania BioBlitz, podczas których grupa pasjonatów pod okiem dr. Michała Gorczaka przez 6 godzin przemierzała ogrody w poszukiwaniu grzybów. Efekt? Podczas naszych badań znaleźliśmy 41 różnych rodzajów grzybów, z czego 37 udało się dokładnie rozpoznać i przyporządkować do gatunku. Najwięcej było saproksylobiontów - grzybów rozkładających martwe drewno. Wśród nich znalazły się zarówno twarde, wieloletnie huby, jak i jednoroczne, miękkie owocniki, a także uszak bzowy i żylak trzęsakowaty.

  • Sztuka Domicelli Bożekowskiej to podróż przez fascynacje naturą, imponujący warsztat i niespotykana wrażliwość na ruch, gest i charakter zwierząt. Na nowej wystawie w Koszarach Kantonistów pt. "Miasto zwierząt" przyjrzycie się z bliska wizerunkom wielu gatunków: od monumentalnych bawołów i słoni, przez tygrysy, lisy i jelenie, aż po – wilki, którym Bożekowska poświęcała szczególną uwagę. Znajdziecie tu także portrety zwierząt z jej najbliższego otoczenia: Fugi – pół wilczycy, pół psa, mangusty Kitu czy fretki Pandulka. To ekspozycja, która zachwyca dociekliwością godną przyrodnika i umiejętnością uchwycenia życia w najdrobniejszym detalu.
