The Minister of Culture and National Heritage entrusted the duties of Director of the Royal Łazienki Museum to Professor Zbigniew Wawer as of 1 March 2017.

All those who would like to experience something exciting during March weekends are invited to walking tours around the royal gardens. The Łazienki staff will show you less known corners of the gardens and tell about their extraordinary history.

The youngest ones and their carers are invited to workshops where children will discover the English language in a light-spirited, fun atmosphere. The first meeting will be held on 21 January.

The magically illuminated gardens, strollers with colourful lanterns and climatic music – on 18th February, the Winter Evening of Light was held in the Royal Łazienki for the fifth time already. We wish to thank all the visitors who took part in this remarkable event.

The ‘Gagaku and Budo’ show of Japanese court music and martial arts was held on 7 February 2017 in the Royal Theatre. The event was organised by the Meiji Jingu shrine from Tokyo. Watch the photo coverage.

On 7 February 2017, Prime Minister Beata Szydło hosted a dinner in the Palace on the Isle on the occasion of the German Chancellor’s visit to Warsaw.

The Golden Collection of Coins in the Royal Łazienki has been enriched by new exhibits. The Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland deposited three coins with images of Polish kings in the Museum.

Visitors to the Palace on the Isle can now see the royal bedchamber, which as a result of revitalization resembles the one from the times of Stanisław August. Now, we can admire historical furniture that was refurbished with highest care, including the ruler’s canopy bed and richly adorned silk wall panels.

Visitors are invited to a special performance – "La serva padrona" (Servant Turned Mistress), which will be shown in the Royal Theatre as a marionette opera. Almost one metre tall marionettes will "act" – brought to life with the hands of animators and voices of outstanding soloists.

Tadeusz Zielniewicz, Director of the Royal Łazienki Museum, was honoured with the ‘Visionaries of the 21st Century’ prize awarded by the ‘Wprost’ weekly. The prize-giving gala was held on 7 December 2016 in the Old Orangery.

Concerts, including Christmas carols and pastorals, Christmas workshops for children and lectures – these are just some of the attractions offered in December in the Royal Łazienki. Visitors will also be able to walk along the Chinese Avenue ornamented with magic lights.

From July until 4 December, the 17th century work of art showing an interior of a gallery of paintings by Gonzales Coques and unidentified Antwerp artists will be displayed in the Palace on the Isle. It is the most interesting example of a specific genre of painting art - gallery paintings.

The Old Orangery adapted to the needs of people with disabilities - is a project for which the Royal Łazienki received a prize in the "Warsaw without Barriers" competition organised by the Friends of Integration Association. The distinction was awarded during the Great Gala of Integration, which was held on 19 November 2016 in the Ursynów Arena.  

From 2 to 30 November 2016, visitors to the Royal Łazienki will be able to explore free of charge precious monuments and beautiful art collections from the times of the last King of Poland – Stanisław August. As part of the Admission Free November campaign, visitors are also invited to the Long Night of the Palace on the Isle and the Old Orangery, and to attend museum lessons.

Come to the Palace on the Isle on 13 November 2016 for a meeting with Anna Frajlich, a remarkable Polish poet and journalist, living permanently in the United States, who will tell the audience about her work.

Children and their carers are invited on Sunday to enjoy a wealth of attractions during a tour of the Palace on the Isle and the Old Orangery. Come and see how king Stanisław August lived; our museum educators will tell you about the works of art collected by the ruler in an exciting and accessible way.

On each Saturday of November – from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. – visitors are invited to the Long Night of the Palace on the Isle and the Old Orangery with the Royal Theatre. We recommend it to all those who would like to see beautifully illuminated interiors, and learn about the history of Stanisław August’s collections of paintings and sculptures – recounted by our educators.

We invite visitors to the 3rd International Ignacy Jan Paderewski Festival. The programme will feature jazz concerts, piano recitals, as well as workshops and musical meetings. Other attractions will include films and talks about the work of the famous Polish pianist, composer, activist, and statesman.
